New & Aspiring FYS Workshop- May 2019

You are invited to attend a half-day workshop on Thursday, May 23 from Noon to 4:30. This workshop is designed for those teaching FYS for the first time in the Fall of 2019 and for those who are considering teaching FYS at some point in the future. The workshop will examine the goals of the FYS program and how instructors can approach those goals within the confines of the content of the courses they are planning, and what it is like to work with in-coming first-year students in an environment where they expect to know you and rely on you for advice/mentoring. We will serve lunch from noon until around 12:30. Participants not on 12-month contracts will receive a stipend of $75.
